{"id":1787,"date":"2020-05-04T14:00:15","date_gmt":"2020-05-04T13:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rahema.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1787"},"modified":"2020-05-04T14:00:15","modified_gmt":"2020-05-04T13:00:15","slug":"rajma-curry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rahema.co.uk\/blog\/rajma-curry\/","title":{"rendered":"Rajma Curry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"634\" height=\"357\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g7ilgopox_g?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-GB&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Serves: <strong>4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Syns: <strong>FREE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Time Taken: <strong>30 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Difficulty: <strong>Easy<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cal spray oil<\/li>\n<li>2 red onions, chopped<\/li>\n<li>Salt, to taste<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tbsp cumin seeds<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tbsp dried fenugreek leaves<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp ginger &amp; garlic paste<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp curry powder\/bassar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tbsp garam masala<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp tomato puree<\/li>\n<li>2 tins red kidney beans, drained<\/li>\n<li>Fresh coriander to garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Method<\/h4>\n<p>Spray a pan with 1cal spray oil.<\/p>\n<p>Fry onions with the salt till lightly golden. Add cumin seeds and fenugreek. Add water to the pan if the onions start to stick to the pan.<\/p>\n<p>Add the ginger &amp; garlic paste and continue frying for another couple of minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add the curry powder and garam masala. Cook the spices for around 5 minutes, adding water if needed.<\/p>\n<p>Add the tomato puree, cook for a minute before adding the kidney beans. If you want to you can add more water if the curry looks too dry.<\/p>\n<p>Cover the lid and simmer. Cook gently for 10 minutes before garnishing with fresh coriander.
